Global Shanghai Ranking by Academic Subjects 2019: Univ. Grenoble Alpes 1st French university in 7 subjects

Univ. Grenoble Alpes ranked in the international Top 50 in 6 academic subjects

 

With 37 mentions in total out of a possible 54, Univ. Grenoble Alpes is ranked in the Top 50 in 6 academic subjetcs, and even finds itself in the international Top 30 in 3 fields: Earth Sciences (21st), Metallurgical Engineering (23rd), Remote Sensing (24th). It therefore reinforces its international standing in the Shanghai Rankings 2019 (ARWU – Shanghai Ranking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2019), published on 26 June 2019. It also made significant progress in 5 subjects with regards to 2018, and appears in the rankings for the first time this year in Mining & Mineral Engineering and Public Health.

Of Univ. Grenoble Alpes’ 37 academic subject rankings, 23 are in the Top 150, 19 in the Top 100 and 6 are in the Top 50.

 

2nd French University

In the Top 50 rankings, Univ. Grenoble Alpes takes 2nd place among fellow French universities just after Sorbonne University. The site takes top place in the French rankings in 7 academic subjetcs and in the Top 3 French universities in 13 other disciplines.

With the upcoming creation of the integrated university on 1st January 2020, which will bring together the Communauté Université Grenoble Alpes, Université Grenoble Alpes, Grenoble INP, Sciences Po Grenoble and ENSAG School of Architecture, these subject rankings demonstrate the strength of Univ. Grenoble Alpes through Université Grenoble Alpes and Grenoble INP Institute of Engineering Univ. Grenoble Alpes. The rankings combine the best classifications of the institutions that will make up the integarted university, in each academic subject.
