Joined Up! Writing – Unite! 2025 Edition

Students, researchers, faculty, and staff from institutions within the Unite! alliance were invited to unleash their creativity by participating in the collaborative project Joined Up Writing – Unite! edition.

Following a successful poetry and creative writing workshop led by Björn Kjellgren on the European Day of Languages in Darmstadt, Rebecca Guy (English teacher, poet, and project leader at Grenoble INP - UGA) and Björn Kjellgren (associate professor, poet, and project leader at KTH) launched an online collaborative poetry-writing activity inspired by the work of Scottish poet Fin Hall. This initiative encouraged participants to co-create a multilingual poem, fostering cultural and linguistic exchange in a spirit of simplicity and collaboration.

How It Works

Each participant contributed a verse (at least two lines) to the collective poem. The last line of each contribution was then passed on to another poet, inspiring the next part and forming a chain of shared creativity and emotions.

The first Unite! poetry workshop took place on September 26, 2024, during the European Day of Languages. Now, the final piece is set to be published on May 21, 2025—World Poetry Day!
