The EIT : European Institute of Innovation and Technology

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is an independent EU body strengthening Europe’s ability to innovate. The EIT is an integral part of Horizon Europe, the EU’s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.

The Institute is a unique EU initiative that drives innovation across Europe by bringing together organisations from business, education and research and find innovate solutions to pressing global challenges to create, cooperate and innovate.
We support the development of dynamic, long-term European partnerships among leading companies, research labs and higher education. These partnerships are called EIT Knowledge and Innovation Communities and each is dedicated to finding solutions to a specific global challenge, from climate change and sustainable energy to healthy living and food.

Innovation Communities bring together companies, research centres and universities as partners, creating an environment for creative thinking and innovation. There are eight EIT Innovation Communities, each focusing on a specific global challenge.
