Dr. Yoann Roupioz graduated from the Chemistry Department from the University of Montreal, Canada, in 1997. He came back to France and received his PhD degree in 2001 at the University of Grenoble-Alpes, in the field of Nucleic Acids chemistry.Then, he went to the University of British Columbia, Canada, to work on catalytic Nucleic Acids (2001-2002), and at the French Nuclear Energy Office in Paris (2002-2004) where he focused on living cell micro-arrays. Since 2005, Yoann is Researcher for the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and is developing cell-based biosensors at the CEA in Grenoble.
In 2007, he was recipient of the ‘young Researcher Award’ of the French Biochemical and Molecular Biology Society and also recipient of the 2011 “Masao Horiba Award” in Kyoto, Japan. In 2012, he co-founded the company Prestodiag, based near Paris, which develops micro-arrays and dedicated instruments for the detection of bacterial pathogens in food. Since 2014, he is also Deputy Head of the SPrAM.
